Went out for lunch with the Friend yesterday

We had the world's most fantastic time, hanging out and stuffing ourselves silly! It was a long, enjoyable lunch filled with crazy photo takings (haha!), endless conversations and me dancing whenever some random music being played. Delicious food, sincere customer service from the restaurant and chilling out with the Friend, what more can I ask?

Outfit: White slashed jeans, pale pink top with silver and white appliqués, studded black shoes and black bag. Sorry for no outfit photos! Lame excuse but yes, I forgot!

Afterwards when we separated for different directions, I ran off for a little shopping spree again at one of my fav shops ever! (Guilty look) Though I have spent more than I shouldn't but heck! I don't regret anything I bought, so yeah!

Florals & a Skull

What I wore today for a mini shopping spree (wheee!):

Floral playsuit: Cotton On, bag & shoes: Bugis & skull ring: Chameleon

This lovely playsuit has incited a number of inappropriate stares from the opposite sex. Like, whatever, never seen a lady in a halter top before? JAKUNS (Country bumpkins)!

------------------

Random facts I discovered today:

* I never look into the camera / smile when posing because why, the photos don't turn out nice! (BIG SOBS) WTF!!!

* Cotton On is getting dangerous for my poor, battered wallet.

* I should maintain calm and poise when faced with the word 'SALE'.

Somewhere... deep... dark in the room, lies the secret purchases from Cotton On...

sshhh... Silence is golden after all...

Part 1: Looks I love

Just to share some of the various looks I adore:

I have always, always, always been a huge fan of the minimalist style, with just a touch of something different. So that is why I love the above looks! (Admittedly) This is very much my everyday style. Simple, classic pieces that will carry me through the day wins the heart of mine over outlandish and impractical pieces that resembles me a light bulb.

Dressing the way I love and knowing best what I like. This has become one of my fashion philosophy. Because when you are in clothes you love and in pieces you are crazy about, you feel and look great. Not only when you work, you feel a thousand times better!

Don't you think so?

Plans During the Break

Things I have planned during the break:

1) Catch up on reading (yup, already on it. Have been going to the local libraries every other day.)

2) Go watch a movie (I am dying to see 'Dear John'.)

3) Visit the theatre/attend an art show etc

4) Exercise (I used to exercise regularly... during my school days. Even when I left secondary school to continue my diploma studies, I became an avid runner and visited the gym pretty often. I was fit back then. I could run 10 laps around the stadium and still feel strong. Not that I need to run 10 laps again to feel this way, but I know I have to get back into shape and most importantly, get fit and moving again. After all, not only one must eat right, regular exercise is essential for a healthy lifestyle, isn't it? But don't get me wrong, the break is going to encourage me to start exercising regularly since time is in my hands but I will try my darnest to squeeze in some exercise as well once I return back to the grind.)

5) Join a marathon this year (Ever since the Brother joined the annual SAFRA marathon last year, he had been encouraging me to join in as well. But due to work commitments, I had no time for training. Seeing him complete a marathon inspired me to complete a marathon as well. He is going for another marathon this year. Yes, I am very proud of the Brother. I am planning to join a marathon this year and I will do my best to make time for training. I can't wait to join him!)

6) Travel (Already in the works!)

7) Continue to plan on what I am going to do next...

On our way home today, the Sister and I did a little shopping spree..

On a hiatus

As the title suggests, I am currently on a break.

I need some time away. Most importantly, to think about what would my next step be. Having worked for the past six months straight after graduation, I realised I had forgotten the simple things in life I used to live for: I forgot how to laugh, how to smile and sadly, what I had set out to do originally. I realised I want it all back..

It has been three days since I announced my break from the corporate world and I have been having a blast. It feels such a relief, to be able to do things on my own time, to hang out with the Sister and laugh till we're in stitches and finally, to have some time for myself.

(BTW, we went swimming on Wednesday and thankfully, the muscle cramps on my shoulders is finally going down. Been hurting like crazy since the swim!)

But I love it. I love being able to do things I never could do, due to the lack of time. I love enjoying simple pleasures like strolling around and laughing with the Sister till we are in serious stitches. It has been a long time and it has become a luxury. I know that this break might not be a long one, given my drive to accomplish and do more things. But I am determined to make it memorable and sweet!

Yesterday, the Sister and I went out for a mini shopping spree with the intention to watch 'Dear John' but realised we're in the wrong cinema because that particular cinema does not play the movie... (roll eyes)

Random outfit photos we took of yesterday:

my favourite belt!

Outfit: Cotton On, Shoes: Bugis & Bag: Zinc

Yes, the attack of the acne has returned and blessed me with one, just below my lip.

All In A Week

Sorry for the lack of life here for the past week. Life just got busier and I got tired more easily, means earlier bedtime. Whew! Feels like a year since I posted!

What I wore to work on Monday:

Top: Dorothy Perkins, high waisted pants with belt: FNT, Buckled heels: Bugis & Bag: Zinc

Yes, you might be surprised that the bag is actually from Zinc, the very brand which produces eye cringing loud bags specially catered to the teens. I was pleasantly surprised as well. When my eyes laid on this particular fringed bag, I knew I had to have it. It is perfectly fringed... To be honest, I contemplated very hard before getting it because it is quite expensive and at that time, I had gotten another (expensive) bag already. But I realised, what the heck! I will end up getting it anyway. It's just the matter of when I would get it. So on last Christmas Eve, I took to train from work and rushed to get my bag!!!

Side note: I realised I have the tendency to dress a lot formal on Mondays, rather on other work days. Maybe it is because due to the fact that my meetings happen on Mondays, hence the formal look.

------------------

On Friday:

Attended my aunt's CNY house party where we had a blast, gorging on sinfully oily indulgences, hanging out with the paternal grandma, talking at the top of our voices to each other (yes, we are one (very) loud extended family and laughing with the relatives. What a blast!

------------------

On Saturday:

The friend and I joined the statistics...

------------------

On Sunday:

Had dinner at Ria with the Brother. It is one of our favourite places to eat!

------------------

What I wore to work today:

Outfit: Bugis & Shoes: Malaysia

I love my top and shoes! You can't really see the details properly due to the horrible lighting but it is so much better up close! Pinky promise I will shoot better pics of the top and shoes the next time I wear it.

Sorry for the bad picture. The camera battery died on me just before I could even take a picture. This is taken from my handphone, hence the bad quality.

Later dinner with an old friend:

A simple meal - Macaroni fish with a cold cup of Bundung .. YUMS!

How was your week? Do share!

Anyway, have a happy week ahead!
