Blu Moon

I love Blu Moon. I have been absolutely obsessed over the label since spotting their pieces (admittedly) on Hollywood celebrities. Maybe it is the fact that they are such easy pieces that is not tight on the bodies and can take you from day to night wins brownie points from me. I adore the flirty, feminine and bohemian style which screams carefree.

One of my grand aims this year when I visit (hopefully) NYC is to make a short trip to LA and stock up on the label since they do not ship here... Fine, I confess. I have been planning on where to shop even before I buy my plane tickets.

Yes, my bank account hates me now.

The many pieces I am gushing over:

I seriously cannot wait for the day where I can finally step into their store...

Lurving My Birthday Gift

Bought my first ever Hansel piece last week after much painful decision making. Was very, very, very torn between different pieces that caught my eye.

This was my ultimate selection:

Such a pretty, fun and comfortable yet formal top. I simply love the unexpected twist at the front which makes this top different from others.

You can sure bet this will not be my last visit!

BTW, I have turned 20 years old!

Hansel

I don't think I have said enough on my blog but I have always been supportive of local designers / labels (as much as I adore international designers and labels), or at least I am trying to (since my knowledge of local designers are pathetically little so I won't embarrass myself listing it out here). Mainly because, I do believe that they are as good as international ones. This year or rather, recently, I find myself trying to shop locally as much as possible, unless the odd Topshop / high street labels urge spikes up here and there. One of my utmost favourites? Hansel.

Founded by Jo Soh, I have always admired her vision and designs. Her label is simply amazing and (pardon me for gushing like a crazy fan girl) I love every piece from her collections. They are simply breathtaking. Modern, fun, quirky which speaks minimalism at the same time, her clothes are wearable for an everyday gal too. And that is very important as well.

Some of my favourite pieces:

This year, one of my birthday goals is to own a Hansel piece (on top of getting to learn more about local designers and labels) and it is becoming a reality. (Pardon me, I have always been frivolous) Discovered some Hansel items on sale yesterday and I think I just died a little because I want to survive to purchase them. (Omg, I sound freakishly cheesy) Will march over to The Mandarin Gallery and get them today.

Hope they don't sell out that fast! (Cues crossing fingers and toes)

MAJOR CRUSH

Saw this A.L.C skirt on Gwen Stefani and I fell completely in love. I think I have just found the perfect maxi skirt.

Sighs, with the retailing price at £630, the next alternative is to find a similar version. Now, where to I start...

Then again, since my birthday is coming up in six days... *HINT HINT* this will *COUGHS* make a perfect *COUGHS* birthday gift *HINT HINT* (insert pleading eyes)

Attended a beautiful wedding over the weekend where I did my nails beforehand. I was totally obsessed with nude shades of pink and bright minty green colours so both choices ended up on my fingernails and toenails respectively!

Top: Mango
Pants: bYSI
Shoes: Charles & Keith (By far, my most comfortable pair of shoes from the label)
Clutch: Dorothy Perkins
Necklace: Rubi
Ring: F21
Bracelet: Topshop

My Summer Look Part 1

Living on this sunny, single weather island means summer all year round, or in the recent case, heavy downpours and floods after a series of heatwaves. It can be a drag, to dress summer after summer everyday. To liven things up, bring bright hues and bold colours to your looks. Spice it up with accessories to keep it different. Most importantly, always keep it fun!

Below are my favourite summer key pieces of the day:

Top: Anthropologie - Such a cute and really fun top, a reminiscent of the retro vintage era.
Shorts: J Crew - A summer essential that carries you to most places with ease.
Boots: Rag & Bone - Though boots are impractical, it adds the grunge factor to a summer outfit
Bag: Gucci - I cannot resist a camel coloured bag.

So what are your favourite key pieces to summer looks?
