Lady in Red

Attended a beautiful wedding over the weekend where I did my nails beforehand. I was totally obsessed with nude shades of pink and bright minty green colours so both choices ended up on my fingernails and toenails respectively!

My Summer Look Part 1

Living on this sunny, single weather island means summer all year round, or in the recent case, heavy downpours and floods after a series of heatwaves. It can be a drag, to dress summer after summer everyday. To liven things up, bring bright hues and bold colours to your looks. Spice it up with accessories to keep it different. Most importantly, always keep it fun!

Below are my favourite summer key pieces of the day:

Top: Anthropologie - Such a cute and really fun top, a reminiscent of the retro vintage era.
Shorts: J Crew - A summer essential that carries you to most places with ease.
Boots: Rag & Bone - Though boots are impractical, it adds the grunge factor to a summer outfit
Bag: Gucci - I cannot resist a camel coloured bag.

So what are your favourite key pieces to summer looks?

It's The Fringe, Fringe Thing!

These days, I love fringe tops. I really do. They are such amazing pieces that simply jazzes up anything! Thanks to my newfound obsession, I have been on the hunt for perfect looking ones and have finally found it thanks to thescarletroom.com! Will post pictures of it soon.

Tip: Fringe tops can be really tricky to wear, just make sure to keep the rest of your outfit as simple as possible to avoid looking too over the top, unless it is what you are going for. Have fun!

Below are some of my favourites from Topshop:

Belt Cum Bag

Pic credits to: Missselfridge.com

I have always been terrified of pouch bags, never mind if some of them do look chic or they are convenient. I really want to say that I have never carried them though I did, foolishly, during a period of time and it was years back when I wanted to channel hip hop or inject some coolness in me (really, don't ask!).

They never looked utterly attractive to me and in my eyes, I always believed it was the worst bag ever created. I shudder hard whenever I see anyone wearing it. But there is a convenience factor you can never deny!

So I am always searching for an alternative to a pouch bag, that does not resemble anything close to it! This particular piece came from Miss Selfridge and I really love it to bits! It's a belt cum pouch which makes it extra chic! The best part? It is not counted as a pouch bag! Plus, it is perfect for nights where I am heading out and I don't want a big bag to cramp my style or restrict me.

So what are your thoughts on pouch bags and go to bags for night's out?

Kimono Jackets Are My Newest Love

Had a mini spree at Topshop yesterday... I've come to realise that I enjoy shopping at night better than in the day!

My lovely purchases:

Green Kimono Jacket - This is easily my most expensive clothing purchase of the month. I love kimono inspired jackets because of how easily they can dress up a plain and boring outfit especially on days where you just want to put on tank top and shorts! (Am also incredibly inspired by Nicole Richie's Winter Kate line and her current style!) Adding with the current heatwave that makes dressing very difficult, this is a perfect alternative if you don't want a proper jacket.

Random bracelets - I love accessories. The more the better. If I am broke, I buy accessories instead. If I want to jazz up my workdrobe (working wardrobe), I buy accessories instead of new clothes. They always spice up you outfit and give old ones a boost! Admittedly, I used to shun accessories because of its impracticality, especially rings. But it is all history now!

Some Old Pics

Black bag: U.R.S
Grey wedges: Mitju
Black pants: Cotton On
Black ruffled top: Can't remember!
Green belt: Cineleisure (or was it at Scape?)
Double necklaces: Dorothy Perkins
Black cardigan: Pasar Malam!

An old set of outfit pics I haven't got time to post. The bag and shoes are gone from my wardrobe as they died after very frequent wears. Just realised that pants have been a staple in my every outfit and I worn them since last year which means the dresses and skirts in my wardrobe has been severely neglected for the past months.

Love my black cardigan which I got it for 10 bucks at the pasar malam! This proves fashion does not always mean expensive and mixing and matching is the best way to go. Though I hate the quality though, it has gone loose!

Have a great Sunday everyone!
