I Heart Bags

Haven't shopped for a fairly long time and I find it difficult to get a bag I will love... So when these two bags caught my eye, I knew I had to get them.

Unlike clothes or accessories, I don't buy bags so easily on a whim anymore because I used to buy so many of them at one go, only to realise I would carry either one or two eventually and discard the rest. Though that was a few years back and I have reformed (obviously, because my room can only store so much), it still stings to think how much money I have wasted buying so many bags I don't even need in the first place!

Now, I only buy them when I need them or I will actually carry them, which means, I rarely buy bags anymore.

I really loved this shade of blue and it helps that the size of the bag is absolutely perfect! It isn't too big or too small, just right.

I am always trying to find THE bag that will carry me seamlessly from day to night so it was love at first sight when I found this!

This was a surprise purchase. I am never a person who would hang stuff on my bag but when I saw this bag charm, I just had to get it! Isn't it gorgeous? Now, it is the accessory for the bag.

Hope everyone will have a good start on Monday. Cheers to a great week!

My Love Hate Relationship with Shoe Shopping.

It is definitely uncommon and I am going to let the cat out of the bag. I loathe shoe shopping but I love shoes. I really do. And I am only looking for the quirkier, the better and the classiest, the better. Nothing else in between.

The reasons are aplenty and mainly because I am very picky about what I wear on my feet. Whenever I walk past a shoe boutique and with just one look, I would have already decided whether I like the shoes and if it is worth checking it out. It has to be comfy, take me to places and have slip grips on the bottom of the shoes because I don't want to fall on slippery floors etc. Frankly, I am not sure whether it is just me but I have always found it extremely difficult to find a real pair of good looking shoes that I can actually say it was love at first sight. Plus I have fat feet although I am size 38 which technically, shoe shopping should be so much easier if not most of the shoes helped make them look fatter. And I really hate shoes that goes out of shape when I try them on. Hello? It looks awful and no matter how nice a design I am not going to buy them.

For the longest time, I have always bought shoes out of necessity (except for that pair of leather flats which The Friend and I bought about a month ago. Hello? Comfort, work and play appropriate!). It was depressing and boring. But I just simply cannot find that one pair of shoes that can make my heart sing.

So, on a whim after dinner yesterday, I decided to wander into Cotton On and my eyes fell on THE pair of flats. It has been a long time since I went absolutely crazy for shoes and actually bought two pairs on a weekend! Just love them so much! And it does help that it is animal printed, I love anything animal printed! (Oh, before I forget, I also got a pair of gorgeous sandals at an amazing steal on Friday night!)

The Bro pointed out yesterday that it could match my current nails:

I don't think the shoes have slip grips but whatever, I am just going to be extra careful! It has been a great shoe weekend!

Hello there...

Brand new purchases this week! (though I am aware that it is not over yet)

Celine inspired Boston Nano bag and Ray Ban Wayfarers

I love bags that have both handles and a strap. They are practical and functional. I hate bags that are too big for one because they kill your back and give you the tendency to dump everything inside. So when I saw the Celine Boston Nano bag sometime back, I fell in love. Though I adore Celine, it is the size and the fact it has both handles and a strap that got me falling in love with it. It is the bag that I can carry anywhere and everywhere for weekends. After hunting high and low everywhere for a similar version, I finally found it!

As for the Wayfarers, I had always wanted a pair for the longest time but did not get it as I wore glasses previously and never dared venture to contact lenses until this year. After much research on the types I really liked and had originally planned to get it for myself as a birthday gift... but was broke even before it came (and wanted to spend it all on Hansel). Two days ago I made up my mind to get it this Sat but luck decided I should have it right away.

Alright, enough of the ramblings. Happy Friday and Hello Weekend tomorrow everyone!

Lurving My Birthday Gift

Bought my first ever Hansel piece last week after much painful decision making. Was very, very, very torn between different pieces that caught my eye.

This was my ultimate selection:

Such a pretty, fun and comfortable yet formal top. I simply love the unexpected twist at the front which makes this top different from others.

You can sure bet this will not be my last visit!

BTW, I have turned 20 years old!

Belt Cum Bag

Pic credits to: Missselfridge.com

I have always been terrified of pouch bags, never mind if some of them do look chic or they are convenient. I really want to say that I have never carried them though I did, foolishly, during a period of time and it was years back when I wanted to channel hip hop or inject some coolness in me (really, don't ask!).

They never looked utterly attractive to me and in my eyes, I always believed it was the worst bag ever created. I shudder hard whenever I see anyone wearing it. But there is a convenience factor you can never deny!

So I am always searching for an alternative to a pouch bag, that does not resemble anything close to it! This particular piece came from Miss Selfridge and I really love it to bits! It's a belt cum pouch which makes it extra chic! The best part? It is not counted as a pouch bag! Plus, it is perfect for nights where I am heading out and I don't want a big bag to cramp my style or restrict me.

So what are your thoughts on pouch bags and go to bags for night's out?

Kimono Jackets Are My Newest Love

Had a mini spree at Topshop yesterday... I've come to realise that I enjoy shopping at night better than in the day!

My lovely purchases:

Green Kimono Jacket - This is easily my most expensive clothing purchase of the month. I love kimono inspired jackets because of how easily they can dress up a plain and boring outfit especially on days where you just want to put on tank top and shorts! (Am also incredibly inspired by Nicole Richie's Winter Kate line and her current style!) Adding with the current heatwave that makes dressing very difficult, this is a perfect alternative if you don't want a proper jacket.

Random bracelets - I love accessories. The more the better. If I am broke, I buy accessories instead. If I want to jazz up my workdrobe (working wardrobe), I buy accessories instead of new clothes. They always spice up you outfit and give old ones a boost! Admittedly, I used to shun accessories because of its impracticality, especially rings. But it is all history now!

Topshop I Love You

I don't know what is there not to love about Topshop in our sunny island. (Now, I have not been to other Topshop outlets in other countries so I am not comparing here.) The efficiency, the excellent customer service where they are always ready and willing to serve plus amazinggg clothes!

Today's Topshop spree very nearly threatened me to go overboard... Until I reminded myself harshly that I had dropped $300 bucks on new skincare products earlier. So I held back and nearly begged for restraints... HA!

- What I bought -

Red Floral Dress:

Surfing for pics now as I am very lazy to take any and realised it looks very similar to the KATE MOSS DRESS! (see aboveee!!!) Except the floral prints are much more colourful and I am going to wear a white tank inside. Price tag completely justified now!

Tapered pants in black:

The pants was love at first sight. In this blog, I have never stopped stressing my love for pants that ends at mid calves but this! It ends perfectly just few mere inches before my ankles! I love them! Though navy blue is pretty much sold out, I WILL FIND THEM NO MATTER WHAT! They are my perfect pants!

I WANT ANOTHER TRIP TO TOPSHOP AGAIN!!!!

I'm Beautiful

I know this sounds superficial as compared to other things that are happening around the world but these days, I am feeling less than confident than I should be, or at least have been.

Remember my previous posts on the breakouts I have been suffering from? Well, it is getting worse. It IS frustrating because my face has never been like this before. I NEVER suffered from breakouts throughout my life, except for the odd ones here and there but NOT this kind.

Mid size red angry looking pimples (wtf) looked like decorations on my forehead, too many acne (wtf again) looked like cherry toppings on my nose while a million more pimples around my cheeks and chin.

Recently, The Sister gently asked me about the face situation and naturally, I snapped and felt guilty instantly. She has been concerned for me because like me, she has never seen my face like this before. Not too long ago, I joked to The Sister that if the situation worsens, I might have to go on Roaccutane and she got very worried.

But guess what? I will fight this because I know I can.

I am beautiful, regardless of how many pimples or acne on my face.

Moving on, my latest Shopping Buys!!!

Finally...

A pair of black slouchy like boots which I can't seem to post them up because Blogger is being a bitch :(

Good night people :)

New Additions to the Wardrobe

(pretty blue paperbag skirt)

(for days when I want to feel tough and look tough. HA!)

(simple little black dress, a wardrobe essential)

(I LURVE a good dressy white t-shirt)

(yes! Finally got you clogs!)

(vintage inspired floral dress)

(Love the pants: great cut and colour plus it has suspenders! Which btw, is my latest obsession)

(Admittedly, it took me almost more than a month to decide whether I want to buy the pants as I didn't know what I could match it with. Finally, I was like 'Heck it! I love it and I need to get it!)

(Though I hardly wear skirts these days, the cut and simplicity of this piece shoved me to get it)

(the wear-to-anywhere white shirt)

(almost didn't get this pair of wedges... but it was too pretty NOT to get..)

(oversized white shirts are a favourite of mine)

And the biggest splurge of all... a Calvin Klein vest

Admittedly, it was a bitch to part my money for this piece of item because frankly, I have never spent so much on a piece of clothing before! But when I first tried this on, it fit me so well. Like so well... Suddenly, I could imagine myself wearing it to anywhere and how beautifully this vest will integrate into my wardrobe...

So I bought it :)

Myriad of Fabrics

Sorry for the lack of updates! I have gotten terribly lazy to do any posts lately.. Pardon me.

Random things that happened recently:

1. Soon after I announced my shopping ban publicly, I went out and buy a pair of shoes. (Looks embarrassed) And another pair of shoes and some clothes.. COMPLETELY FAIL! Yes, you can slap me now.

2. Last week, my colleague and I were walking out of the office and into the carpark where I tripped and fell onto the damn hump. I didn't even lose my balance! The fall resulted in mid sized holes at the knees of my pants and gave me a matching set of awful looking scabs.

3. My oversized bag for work gave way at the strap after one use. (roll eyes) I only discovered the seriousness of it last Friday and I happened to step on mud. The heel of my shoe looked absolutely disgusting with the chunk of mud stuck to it. Never mind as I threw the shoes out when I came home because the damn damn shoes gave me 5 water blisters and a bloodied middle toe.

4. And I bought new clothes today! A myriad of interesting fabrics to play up with!! Madly in love and excited!!!

5. Lastly, I am going to bed now!! Off for some sleep!

Nite, nite lovely people!
