On a hiatus

As the title suggests, I am currently on a break.

I need some time away. Most importantly, to think about what would my next step be. Having worked for the past six months straight after graduation, I realised I had forgotten the simple things in life I used to live for: I forgot how to laugh, how to smile and sadly, what I had set out to do originally. I realised I want it all back..

It has been three days since I announced my break from the corporate world and I have been having a blast. It feels such a relief, to be able to do things on my own time, to hang out with the Sister and laugh till we're in stitches and finally, to have some time for myself.

(BTW, we went swimming on Wednesday and thankfully, the muscle cramps on my shoulders is finally going down. Been hurting like crazy since the swim!)

But I love it. I love being able to do things I never could do, due to the lack of time. I love enjoying simple pleasures like strolling around and laughing with the Sister till we are in serious stitches. It has been a long time and it has become a luxury. I know that this break might not be a long one, given my drive to accomplish and do more things. But I am determined to make it memorable and sweet!

Yesterday, the Sister and I went out for a mini shopping spree with the intention to watch 'Dear John' but realised we're in the wrong cinema because that particular cinema does not play the movie... (roll eyes)

Random outfit photos we took of yesterday:

my favourite belt!

Outfit: Cotton On, Shoes: Bugis & Bag: Zinc

Yes, the attack of the acne has returned and blessed me with one, just below my lip.

All In A Week

Sorry for the lack of life here for the past week. Life just got busier and I got tired more easily, means earlier bedtime. Whew! Feels like a year since I posted!

What I wore to work on Monday:

Top: Dorothy Perkins, high waisted pants with belt: FNT, Buckled heels: Bugis & Bag: Zinc

Yes, you might be surprised that the bag is actually from Zinc, the very brand which produces eye cringing loud bags specially catered to the teens. I was pleasantly surprised as well. When my eyes laid on this particular fringed bag, I knew I had to have it. It is perfectly fringed... To be honest, I contemplated very hard before getting it because it is quite expensive and at that time, I had gotten another (expensive) bag already. But I realised, what the heck! I will end up getting it anyway. It's just the matter of when I would get it. So on last Christmas Eve, I took to train from work and rushed to get my bag!!!

Side note: I realised I have the tendency to dress a lot formal on Mondays, rather on other work days. Maybe it is because due to the fact that my meetings happen on Mondays, hence the formal look.

On Friday:

Attended my aunt's CNY house party where we had a blast, gorging on sinfully oily indulgences, hanging out with the paternal grandma, talking at the top of our voices to each other (yes, we are one (very) loud extended family and laughing with the relatives. What a blast!

------------------

On Saturday:

The friend and I joined the statistics...

------------------

On Sunday:

Had dinner at Ria with the Brother. It is one of our favourite places to eat!

------------------

What I wore to work today:

Outfit: Bugis & Shoes: Malaysia

I love my top and shoes! You can't really see the details properly due to the horrible lighting but it is so much better up close! Pinky promise I will shoot better pics of the top and shoes the next time I wear it.

Sorry for the bad picture. The camera battery died on me just before I could even take a picture. This is taken from my handphone, hence the bad quality.

Later dinner with an old friend:

A simple meal - Macaroni fish with a cold cup of Bundung .. YUMS!

How was your week? Do share!

Anyway, have a happy week ahead!

The Week

This week has been a pretty stressful week for me.. So glad it is finally over!

What I wore to work on Thursday:

Bolero, bag & flats: Bugis, Skirt: Cotton On & a white random tank (ripped out the annoying brand tag digging onto my skin ages ago since it pissed me off with the constant painful rubbing on the skin)
I am a fan of boleros. It covers your shoulders but does not have the weight of a cardigan/jacket. Particularly useful and bearable in our hot climate. This pair of flats have been dominating my work-robe for the whole week. Comfy and versatile, it has become a necessary staple over a pair of high heels. Especially practical for running after trains and buses when running late!

My new purchases this week!!!

Rings
belt
five tops (not pictured)
a fringed scarf (not pictured)
a bag (not pictured)

....oops, I think I shopped too much..

------------------

Few weeks back, The Sister and I purchased some (okay, 10 over pieces!) vintage stuff online and it came on Wednesday while I was at work. Love the (old) new finds! Sadly though, I had really liked one of the items, an embroidered rose skirt but I think the skirt liked The Sister a lot because she looks super good in it. She ended up with the skirt. Sighs..

Moving onto the bright side!

The most treasured piece of all: the vintage cropped jacket.

The picture does not do justice. It is so much lovelier in real life. The swirl of colours, the fit and the sleeves are amazing! It has become one of my most favourite pieces in the wardrobe. I am so in love with this piece!!!

I seriously cannot wait to put it on and strut around the sunny island, completely deranged screaming "I LOVE THIS JACKET!"

Hahaha!

Just kidding!!!

Chinese New Year

I always love holidays. The magic of it, the laughter, the joy it brings to people, the smile it puts on their faces...

It's also the time of the year where the extended family gather at the Aunt's place to bond. Then along with the Head Chef ( Grandma ) and two cooking prowess assistants ( namely, aunts), they will unleash their world's greatest cooking to feed the masses. We ordinary citizens just do our duty by finishing their creations at the dining table. I love pigging out! Growing up in a half Peranakan and the food mad obsessed family, we were taught to appreciate good food and a fantastic Ayam Buakulat.

CNY Outfit:

Floral bodycon: Velvet Ribbon & Buckled boots: Bugis

Family dinner today at one of our favourite places ever: Aston. What I wore:

T-shirt: Cotton On, Leggings: Boudoir-Boudoir & Fringed sandals: Bugis

Impeccable food and service, what is there not to like? Leaving you with pictures of food! Just two pictures though, because we were so hungry..

My New York Strip: YUM YUM!

The Side Order: French Fries

A little late but.... HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

The Black Dress

What I wore on Monday for work and a meeting:

Bag: Bugis, Shoes: Rubi, Dress: Bugis, Necklace: Chameleon

Just a very quick post. Sorry for the bad pictures. I swear I don't look like that.. Just desperate to get it over and done with.

BTW, cut my hair if you haven't noticed.

Nite lovely people!

Feelin The Blues

What I wore today:

Bag: Bugis, Shoes: some old new wedges that never got around to wear till now and a UNICODE dress

Running so late for work today. Got absolutely no idea on what to wear. Dress, was the next best option because separates make you think too much. Quickly pulled out this particular dress and threw on some old shoes. Surprised it worked and became my favourite outfit for the day.

------------------

My package from Velvet Ribbon is coming tomorrow!!! Am so, so excited for it. Apparently it was supposed to come last Friday but no one was at home. (SOBS) Had to wait for the longest time since Singpost does not do delivery on weekends. And it's coming! TOMORROW!

The Perfect Sunday

Sundays are always my favourite. The family is home and we're always at our silliest and happiest. Ahh, eating and laughing. Went shopping today at 9pm and bought a pair of leopard flats. I can't wait to post them! Love the shoes!

On a random note, I stumbled onto these pics from RDuJour. Aren't they amazing??? (Sighs..) They are from French boutique called Loft Design By.

Pic credits to: RDuJour

Makes me want to own EVERY piece on the model.

Going off to sleep now! Night night lovely people!
